Water is Life by Obi-Akpere


Plants that live in the forest and the mountains are useful to preserve water, air, and land. Roots of the plants can act water reservoir. Without forest there will be a flood and erosion during heavy rain. Erosion and floods cause depletion of the top layer of soil. The top layer of soil is most fertile.

Forests also called the lungs of the world. Plant in forest produce oxygen and absorb carbon
dioxide. This process is called photosynthesis. Oxygen required for living things and absorb by the lungs through breathing.

Water Preservation

Every living creature needs water. We need water for drinking, bathing, washing, cooking, and daily activities of a living human being. Water for drinking must be cooked so that the first to kill the dangerous germs. Birds need water for drinking and bathing.
Plants need water for growth and sustain us with foods.

Water is a gift of God’s that must be preserved and keep cleaned. Polluted water is dangerous for human being. Polluted water that can endanger human life, animals, and plants.

Preservation of water can be done through the following ways:

Does not throw garbage in the river or water channel.
Plant as many threes as possible to enhance the environment.
Use water efficiently.
Dispose used water properly to prevent ground water contamination
